Should people who are incarcerated be able to pay for a single cell?

Pay for a single cell in the sense of pay so that they don’t have to have a bunk mate like most people in prison do

——————

• Would the payment be through manual labor while incarcerated or monthly payments upon release (keep in mind that incarcerated people already have a multitude of fines they have to pay upon release).

• What about the elderly and/or disabled that are unable to work in or outside of prison? Is it fair to all prisoners?

• Would this reduce or increase the cost tax payers have to pay?

• Should the price of the cell be a flat rate or adjusted to how long their sentence is?
