You ovulate when LH drops after the surge? 🤔

What? Has anyone else heard this before? So I recently started using Femometer to do BBT and so far I love it BUT this morning I got this notification

I have NEVER in all my TTC research heard of this. Everything I’ve read is that as soon as your surge starts you will ovulate 12-36 hours later. Every OPK I’ve used says there’s no need to keep testing after you get a positive. 
Has anyone ever heard of ovulation occurring when LH drops after a surge? Maybe they just figure your LH usually has dropped 12-36 hours after the positive OPK?

Glad to see I’m not the only one who hadn’t heard of this! I’m just going to take it as they’re assuming LH would have dropped within that 12-36hours during which ovulation should occur.
 I have tested past my positive before, sometimes I get positives for a few days after sometimes only the next day but I get ovulation pains like clockwork the day after a positive test regardless of how long my surge continues. So guess I’ll stick with that!

Yeah it's like your LH surges then you ovulate. LH goes way up then way down. As soon as you surge it's that window time 24-36 hrs later( or whatever) that you ovulate. And by that time LH has gone down.

Well that's interesting, because as a curious person i have tested past my first positive  before and had it drop off after a day and also had positive for 3 or 4 days. but on the long positive cycles my period was still "on time" two weeks after the first positive...

I had seen this, which is why I don't log my OPKs in the app anymore. LH surge indicates ovulation is coming; end of surge triggers ovulation. OPKs only predict that you are about to ovulate not the actual day of ovulation. I use cheap OPKs and keep testing until negative. like clockwork, egg releases the next day after the negative
