Pregnancy flu shot??? Advice

My dr wants me to get the flu shot since I'm 7 weeks pregnant I've never gotten the flu shot in my life, I'm not really a vaccine person I was wondering if anyone had gotten it or hadn't got it while they were pregnant, I'm very eh on it and my dr wants me to get it next visit.

I never got it before because by mom was allergic, but I got it during my pregnancy. Baby can't get it until 6 months, so it gives them protection until then. Also, RSV can kill your baby, so that seemed worth it to me.
Same with tDap and whooping cough...

I don’t normally get the flu shot because if you’re a healthy adult you’re generally able to fight off the flu on your own (especially considering the vaccine isn’t always right for the strain we end up seeing). But, an infant has basically no immune system. They rely on maternal antibodies transferred to them during pregnancy (and colostrum, but that’s not as important for humans). So I sucked it up and got my flu vaccine when I was pregnant. Those antibodies are important for your child until they can develop their own immunity or are able to be vaccinated.
I’ll add that I get myself and my family fully vaccinated for things like whopping cough, measles, etc. It’s only the flu vaccine that I’m more lax with. Vaccines save lives. I see that all the time in the animals I care for. And I know human medicine in the same. The rising number of unvaccinated people has resulted in rising numbers of diseases (like measles) that 10 years ago we hardly ever saw. Vaccines are vital for protecting your children and those around you (as well as yourself).

At first when my dr said to get it I told him I didn't want it but he explained the reasons he wants me to get it and that it wouldn't harm my baby. I decided to get it.🤷🏽 Now that shes out and one month I'm glad I got it, we are both vaccinated against the flu. 💁🏽 Talk to your dr more about it.

I never get the flu shot but when I am pregnant, I do get it. It not only protects me but it protects the baby. There are other vaccines they will ask you about later on just because it is for the safety of the baby when it is born.

I love all the smart people saying to get it. 100 percent get it. Your baby can't get it until 6 months and by you getting it you are protecting your baby. Save lives, immunize!

I think it’s important to keep up with vaccines. I’ve been getting them since I was a baby and I’m 33 yr old and super healthy. I got them during my first pregnancy and this one which is my second.

Ugh you need to do a lot of research on vaccines. You're about to have a kid, it is really important to have them updated on all vaccines. Regardless if you're a vaccine person or not. 
Typically if you're a healthy adult, you don't need to worry as much about the flu shot. But the flu isn't comparable to a cold. The flu kills thousands of people a year. Pregnant women, children and seniors are at highest risk. Dehydration and other flu symptoms while pregnant is a risk. On yourself and child. I would get it.

vaccines have never been studied or proven safe in pregnancy. I think it's an incredibly risky choice, with no to little benefit. Vitamin D supplementation outperforms the flu vaccine in preventing the flu, and doesn't have any side effects.
