For context, I invited my boyfriend over to my grandmother's house for Christmas eve. In my family, a significant other meets family pretty quickly, and the SO gets "adopted" into the family. Basically you are treated like you've been in my family forever. He seemed fine with it, even was getting excited. Today he decided to tell me he doesn't want to come over. I told him it was fine since we've been together for only 4 months, but I'm really hurt. My last relationship was really abusive and my ex had the same "I don't think I'm in love/I'm doing this to make you happy" schtick. I thought I was being pretty normal about the relationship. I get really excited about relationship stuff cuz I wasn't allowed to be in my first one. Idk what to do.
