3-in-1 car seat or infant seat?

Obviously the 3 in one seems like a better investment but what do you do with baby when out running errands if you don’t have a detachable infant seat? Post your experiences to help this first time expecting mama out

Infant seat first for us. We got ours with an attachable stroller, and it worked well for our first child until about 6 or so months, then we bought him a 3-in-1 cause he got too big. Also, ask your hospital their policy. I know that sounds like a weird thing to ask, but my hospital would NOT let us leave unless we had an infant seat. Hospital policy  was that you had to buckle them properly into the infant seat while in your room, and then get taken down to the pick-up vehicle area so the nurse could watch you attach the infant seat to the base.

I have this one. I babywear most of the time, so taking the car seat out is never an issue for me. I’ll be getting one right off the bat for our next baby.

I have both and prefer the convertible one. I usually carry my baby on a ring-sling or a carrier, if I'm with family I'll bring the stroller for their benefit but this is just my opinion. I breastfeed so baby-wearing gives me the ease to continue moving around while I feed my l/o.

I was gifted a convertible seat at my first baby shower and I would use a baby carrier or wrap. I then ended up getting a gently used infant seat from a friend, I think it's most convenient when using different cars or in my case I would get rides from different family members or babysitters

I have both but I’m going to be using the infant car seat for as long as possible. Only because I don’t want to wake the baby anytime I have to get her out of the car. Seems a little silly to me.

I have both. I wanted an infant car seat since taking a newborn out of those big bulky car seats would be annoying and with the infant car seat you can put the baby in the car seat ahead of time before leaving especially great for when it’s raining or cold out or the baby is asleep. 
When my baby outgrows the infant car seat we have the graco grow car seat. 
I have the safety 1st onBoard 35 and I love it, it’s super soft.

Get a infant seat. A 3 in 1 suckssssss. Lol just because if you run to the grocery store you have nothing to put them in. I have a 3 week old and we ran to the store and had to carry her. It seems like a good investment but really it's a pain in the ass.

I had both. Convertible car seat for my car and I bought a infant seat that came with a stroller for the convenience and for when she's with the sitter. The only time I wished I had the infant seat was when she was asleep and I didn't want to wake her. Other than that I wore her in a carrier alot so the seat didn't really matter for me. I had Graco for both though and I love them!

the infant seat is totally a lifesaver! especially if you also get a stroller it can just pop into. my daughter was in hers for almost a full year before we switched her. I swear almost a year later, I still miss that detachable seat 😂
