Trapped Wind

N

My little girl is now three weeks old and I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding since she was born.

To be honest it’s been really tough (tongue tie issues, fast let down) and I’m on the verge of giving up.

Our latest problem is trapped wind. I have to wind her after every feed and she always passes a big burp as she’s taking in some air due to my fast let down (we’re trying alternative positions for this). However she also gets a lot of trapped wind at the other end and issues pooping.

For the last few days she’s been waking around 2am for a feed and after she just won’t settle as she’s too uncomfortable. She’ll be kicking her legs and I can hear her little tummy gargling but even with massage, nothing will pass it. She’ll then be up most of the night upset and then come the morning (around 8am) over a couple of hours she’ll be passing wind and pooping (little explosions!) until she’s clear.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I’m exhausted from being up half the night and hate being unable to help her. We already use Infacol with each feed.
