Very common that's why they test everyone for it.

It isn't an issue of being more common when you're pregnant, just that if you are colonized with it it can be dangerous (can cause neonatal meningitis) for a baby delivered naturally. They test for it so they know if they need to watch the baby after birth for signs of infection with it. An adult woman can be colonized with this bacteria and have no issues but it is important to know before having a child. So no not more common to get it, yes more common to find out that you have it. I am a laboratory scientist and perform this test at our hospital.
