Okay ladies, who thinks being called a bitch by their boyfriend would be considered abuse?

“You’re acting like a bitch” - maybe I am, maybe I need to calm down, I can sure be a bitch sometimes. 
“You’re a bitch” - hell no, pack your shit. 
For me personally it depends on wording, tone, context and well...whether or not I’m being a bitch.

I said maybe. If my s/o said it once when things were heated and apologized for it after things cooled down I would be hurt but it wouldn’t be abuse. If he said it repeatedly and without remorse then I think that’s playing on the border of emotional abuse.

Sometimes the truth hurts... there have only been a few occasions that he's called me a bitch and I know I straight up deserved it. Sometimes I'll even apologize for "being a bitch." Most often it's a joke, however I'm not easily offended. Not to mention have you ever said something you maybe didn't quite mean just because you're angry? I wouldn't stress about him calling me a bitch.

Being called a bitch isn't abuse. It's rude, but definitely not abuse unless there are other factors involved. Is there physical abuse also happening? Is there something deeper happening psychologically? Are there other signs of abuse? Is the SO just being and ass? Or is the chick just being a bitch? There needs to be way more context to determine if abuse is happening.

Context is key. If it is used all the time in a demeaning way, yes it’s abusive behavior. If it was once during a fight, I wouldn’t consider it abuse. Is it right? No but there’s a difference.

The only time my husband has ever said that word to me is when he’s joking and imitating a sassy gay man 😂 he’ll snap his fingers and say “bitch please”. I wouldn’t tolerate him ever calling me that name for real. We have more respect and love for one another then that.

It depends. If he's using it in a derogatory way, yes. Like slut or whore. But as a joke or something, no.
