Do y'all know what it means to be 54th percentile?

Answer

It just means out of 100 babies the same age as your child, your child is heavier or taller than 54 of them. My daughters been in the 99th percentile for height since she was 2 months old and is currently in the 85th percentile for weight.

It’s just where they are on the growth chart compared to other kids their age. My daughter stayed at the top (above 85) until she was maybe 8mos old. Then she fell to like 10th by 12 mos. but the differences between percentages are just mere ounces. Cause a kid her age weighing just 7 oz more than her was like 20 something percentile. They are not much to worry with unless they stay way high or way low for too long.

Our son was in the 54th percentile for weight last time he was checked, which means 54% of babies either weigh the same or less than him, so 46% of babies weigh more.
