IVF in my 20s?!

Hi guys,
Just looking for some advice/support after getting back from our specialist. Hubby and I have been TTC for 11 months now without success so decided to see a specialist. His semen analysis has come back with normal count but really low motility and lots of abnormal looking sperm. My cycle is like clockwork and I’ve been ovulating every cycle. The specialist recommended IVF due to hubbys abnormal sperm, she said that the chances of us falling pregnant naturally are very low. What have other people’s experience with this? I’m only 28 and hubby is 30 and we’re otherwise active and healthy. IVF seems so scary!

Did the doctor suggest trying any supplements to help with his issues?   Its not a fix but might be worth trying prior to going to IVF route.  Look into Bioclinic's Nutra Ception supplement, my fertility clinic stocks it.   The same company also has a Mito Motile supplement for male fertility.   If 3 months of taking supplements don't improve anything, IVF isn't a bad option.  I went through 3 cycles to get my BFP.  It's expensive, timing consuming and can be physically  and emotionally taxing but if it works, it's all worth it.   If you do go the IVF route, I'd highly recommend looking into acupuncture with someone who specializes in fertility.   The calming effect was extremely helpful to me during cycle 3.  Good luck!

If it is a male factor issue, go with ivf. I am 30, no medical problems with me, and my husband is 27 with low count, motility and abnormal shape. Iui was a waste of time for us. If the sperm don’t swim well, they aren’t going to get where they need to go. We did 3 Medicated iui’s before moving to ivf and got pregnant the first time. Currently 15 weeks with twins.

Hubby has low count, motility, & morphology. We actually did conceive naturally a couple of times but all ended in miscarriages. The specialist told us if we kept trying chances are we would have conceived again (Just may have taken a little longer). We were told IVF with ICSI was our best bet. ICSI is where they physically inject the good sperm into the egg after retrieval. We opted to go ahead with IVF because we have been trying for years. We had our first egg retrieval and fresh transfer in September. We are so happy to announce we are currently over 15 weeks pregnant with our miracle baby boy! & to top it off we have 9 embryos frozen! we wouldn't be where we are now without our reproductive endocrinologist and we are so grateful. When we were losing hope, he was there to guide us in the best direction and help us grow as a family!

My husband and I were in a similar situation, although he had a low count and most were abnormal, we went through icsi, 1 fresh transfer ended up negative and 1 frozen transfer with a positive result, (I’m currently nearly 13 weeks) it is definitely an experience you both have to be invested in 100%, a lot of support needs to be given, it’s very up and down at times, but I didn’t really find it difficult or too scary once I was going through it. I'm doing an iui and if that doesn't work then ivf. With ivf they can remove all the abnormal sperm and use the healthy ones. It might be worth all the stress of constantly trying and wasting time

I really don't know if this will help. We were told last year the sperm count of my husband is low. We did IUI 4x, 1st one we got pregnant but we had m/c the rest all failed. When we transferred to a new fertility clinic we want to try IVF. We got pregnant naturally even we try anything.
My Husband is taking stresstab-green with zbec. Ang fedility told us it is good for increasing sperm count. Husband is exercising at least 3x a week for 30-50mins. I bought fertility monitor to check ovulation. Lastly we used pressed. We BD only 2x in our fertile window. Goodluck

If you are young and healthy, you have plenty of time to save up for the procedure. Time is in your side. My husband has low morphology. We tried for 2 years on our own, positive opks, several medicated IUIs, I can’t wait any longer, we are moving on to IVF.

Did they not try and find out what's wrong with ur husband? We saw a fertility urologist. Come to find out all hormones were fine but borderline low testosterone for my husband. And the kicker is the five large grade three varicoceles they removed from his left testicle early nov. It's been a long road for us. Many tests and worry about what's wrong etc. come to find out two semen tests later and we had our culprit. Been trying 14 months. We had low everything. Count was about 14 million but zero morph and 11% motility. Varicoceles really hinder motility.  Now we wait 3-6 months to see how much his boys change down there. He's also on 25mg clomid a day. I'm almost 29 and he is 29. We wanted to do all we could before jumping to a true fertility clinic. And I'm so blessed to have been referred to a awesome fertility urologist who has published studies on things like low morphology and even varicoceles. We are in good hands. My husband left testicle is even a tad softer and smaller due to the varicoceles being in there since puberty. They have wrecked havoc and we had NO idea about them. Been together ten years. Also FYI our doc does not play into low morph. He put a X through it on the report. He's done studies  too showing men do impregnate women with low morph. Anyways good luck! If i were you I would make sure he's been checked for one and checked hormone wise. I'm praying for our little 2018 miracle now!

because it is totally expensive, inquire about IUI first. We are currently doing IUI and if it doesn’t work then IVF.
