You are a Bad Mum for not breastfeeding?!

My MIL has just called me a bad mother because I am not breastfeeding my child. I have been expressing/pumping my breast milk sometimes and giving my child formula most of the times. I have been told that it’s only bad and selfish mothers that do this. Apparently, skin to skin contact with your baby will make your baby become closer to you and love you more. Is this how people feel about mums that choose not to breastfeed? Wow!

if you don't breastfeed, you're judged.  if you do breastfeed, you're judged for doing it to long or doing it in public or whatever.  there is anyways someone judging.  You do what's best for your family. fed is best

People are brutal about not breastfeeding. As long as your baby is fed, it’s fine. Don’t listen to the judge mental jerks. It’s nobody’s business but your own how you feed your baby and what reasons you have for doing so. You do you, mama!

I am breastfeeding my newborn but my previous son was formula fed and my oldest was breast and formula fed.  My belief, the best baby is a FED baby.  Don’t let something like that get to you.

Skin to skin contact is a great way to bond but it’s not the only way. Don’t let other people try to pressure you into doing something that doesn’t work for you. I made that mistake a couple times and learned that no matter what people say you know what’s best for you and your child over anyone, no matter how much experience they have being a mom.

Skin to skin contact is great for bonding, but you don’t have to be nursing for it, and it’s not the only way to bond. My middle son couldn’t be breastfed due to prematurity and then allergies, and he is my loviest child, wanting to be on me all the time.

I do believe breast is best. But if there is a reason you cannot breastfeed then I absolutely find that understandable (low supply, work, bad latch, pain). if you are ablw and don't, then yes..thats just neglectful imo.
