How Can You Tell If Baby Is Breech Or Not?

Hey ladies! I’m 26 weeks tomorrow and wondering if it’s possible to figure out if baby is breech or not? I don’t have an appt with my OB until next week but I’m just curious now. I feel movement low by my bladder, cervix and bowels and also up towards the top middle and left of my uterus but I’m not sure which is feet and which is fists! Any suggestions are welcome 😊

When my baby was breach I felt all of the movement really low, especially the big kicks. Now that she has flipped I feel only very subtle movement low like hiccups, but all the big kicks are high. I was 20 weeks when she was breech and I'm 25 weeks now, she flipped around 23 weeks.

Just remember that they’re pretty flexible little things. So they can kick up near their torso/fave or down low.

At this point they’re still flipping around in there, and have plenty of room for both feet and fists to be in the same area. The only sure way to tell is with ultrasound. My midwife suggested if I wanted to, I could get a fetoscope and listen to baby. Because it’s basically just a stethoscope (rather than a Doppler, which uses sound waves), the only place you can hear baby’s heartbeat is right over baby’s upper back. So if you’re listening with a fetoscope and find baby’s heartbeat below your belly button, chances are he/she is head down. If the heartbeat is above your belly button, he/she is probably butt down. Of course, if baby’s transverse, all bets are off.  This doesn’t work with a Doppler, because it can find heartbeat from much further away.

I wouldn't worry where baby is at 26 weeks anyways... baby's still moving and has lots of time. & usually babies right before they come out don't flip until their about ready.
