Should religious beliefs be recognised more than any other belief?

Do you believe that someone having certain views should could more if those beliefs come from a religious background? For example, it seems to be accepted more if someone says they don't believe in equal rights for the LGBT community because of their religious background, more than it is accepted if people also believe the same thing but its not religiously motivated.

No belief that infringes on any persons basic rights should be recognised at all imo 🤷‍♂️ but in general, religion or lack of religion shouldn’t determine how serious a belief is taken if we’re talking about the same belief in a religious and non religious sense.

I think religion shouldn’t be used as an excuse for anything to be honest. Law shouldn’t be made to excuse religion. You can’t discriminate full stop doesn’t matter what twisted reasoning you have for it.

No belief, religious or otherwise, should interfere with or deny anyone basic human rights.
It's not like someone is telling you that should covert to being a lesbian because they are. People just want to live their lives in peace with equal rights. Not so complicated. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think in a basic sense that religious beliefs should carry more weight than the same "belief" for a non religious reason. I'm not talking about your specific example but in general. I think the reason why is because it comes down to the fact that for a lot of people, religion is part if them, not something they choose. Otherwise it's an opinion that happens to coincide with other people's beliefs. It's kind of hard to explain to someone who is not religious. But this is an example of my thinking. Lots of us believe that steeling is wrong wether we are religious or not. There has been tons of times that I've walked by something that I want and I've thought to myself, I could just take that. It would be easy to get away with it. But the only reason I don't is because I believe that God would see me do it and be unhappy with me, and I don't want to disappoint God. That's belief is just part of me, and I couldn't get rid of it by choice even if I wanted to. So because it's a part of me my belief is very much valid. Another person that believes it is wrong to steel might be able to ignore that belief in certain situations because it is not part of who they are. I know it's hard to explain, but I don't think people can be faulted for beliefs that are part of them, instead of a property of them. Which is why freedom of religion is a protected right in the first place.

I think depending on the situation religious beliefs should come before random beliefs. 
I don’t always think people need to express their religious views nor do they need to get attacked on what they believe in. People need to learn to agree to disagree. You aren’t going to change someone’s beliefs with your nonsense talk on the Internet. I don’t agree with hate and I don’t agree with preaching. I don’t think that just because people don’t believe in same sex marriage should it be illegal. People do deserve to be happy. But I also don’t think you should force someone to accept things they don’t believe in. Just continue to be happy and stop caring so much about everyone else’s opinion on you.
