I have been using nuvaring for over 9 months now since I became sexually active with my new partner. My cycle runs for 24/22 days or so and I remove my ring every 4th of the month to have my “period” that week..i insert a new one on the 13th when it “ends”

Well you see this week I inserted it on the 13th, same time in the morning, same routine.

Later on that night my partner had unprotected sex with me and ejaculated inside of me..we took the ring out..the next morning we had unprotected sex again..this time with the ring in..

Today is the 15th and I just took Plan B as a precaution. We will be using condoms for the next few days, as we don’t want any incidents to happen. We are in our mid 20’s and very busy with work and life, having a family now would not be ideal for our plans at the moment.

But I am curious was I protected? Was I not protected? How does it work after using it from almost half a year?
