Experience with sonohysterography?

Hi ladies. Can you tell me about your experience with this exam?
I have one planned on tuesday. My husband can’t come with me because of work, so I was wondering if I should bring a family member to drive me home?
I have read some stories from some women who experienced a lot of pain.
sonohysterography is an exam where they insert transducer into the vagina. Using a small tube they insert saline solution to get a clear image of the uterine cavity.

It wasn't too bad for me and I had a blocked tube. Take ibuprofen an hour before that will help. Once they stop instilling the saline the discomfort goes away.

Mine was very painful, but I've heard of women who didn't experience any pain. I would suggest taking ibuprofen before going just in case. As soon as the procedure was done there wasn't anymore pain I was just a little shaky, I would bring a family member just for a little support. Good luck

Was easy and painless for the most part. I have a blocked right tube and an open left one. There was discomfort when they were administering the saline into the right tube. Took maybe 5 mins and the whole thing was over.

Mine was very painful. But once the procedure was over I was fine and able to drive myself home.

It seems that everyone has a different experience, but for me It really was not bad. I took three Advil before I went. It was over pretty quickly. When they pushed the fluid in I felt a REALLY strong cramp. It definitely took my breath away and made me think “oh damn, I really hope this is over fast.” And then It was over. They had some trouble with the fluid at first and had to push really hard, so that might be why. I was ok driving after, but I live really close to the office.  The rest of the day I did have some bad cramps. I was happy to be home on my couch, but I could have gone to work if I’d really needed to.

This procedure is quite common these days. And only take about 10-15 minutes.  For some women they can be a little uncomfortable but no more than a pap smear. Take some Tylenol or pain reliever to ease the discomfort. Hope all goes well.
