Babymoon/Zika??

Question

I'm currently 9w with baby #2. Husband and I are trying to plan a babymoon some time for March/April before life gets insane. We first thought Hawaii, but that's some long haul travel (from East coast) while pregnant. We then thought of the Bahamas, but Zika has me worried! Is anyone else planning a babymoon and to where? Did you consider Zika?

We had a trip planned to Cancun that was already paid for so my husband just ended up going with one of his friends. It’s not worth it with the Zika virus as prevalent as it is right now. We need to protect or babies.

Thanks for weighing in all! I was looking this morning and think we will be going to Bermuda. There's no Zika risk, and we can still get some beachy R&R;

Hi there! East Coaster here too. Another option could be Bermuda! No Zika and it's an easy flight from the EC. We went there last year in late May and it was AMAZING. Been to Hawaii a dozen or so times and it was different but still as relaxing and beautiful.

We decided to skip our trip to Belize this month because of Zika. Is it likely I would catch it? No, but my thoughts were...why even take the chance when there are a bunch of other place I can go? Belize will be there when I’m done having kids!

I avoid all areas with Zika, and that includes skipping events in FL (Miami) and nearby in past when we were TTC. No vacation is worth risking my baby’s health so I’m not willing to gamble with someone else’s life

My dr is making me stay in the US. We were scheduled to go to Tulum & had to cancel. Not worth the risk.

Ask your doctor. I went to Cancun last year at 26 weeks pregnant and my doctor was not concerned. He told me just you wear repellant. I had so much fun and it was worth it!

I’m not sure if you’re going to be able to copy this but visit the cdc website. Centers for disease and control prevention. 
Bahamas has a level 2 warning for Zika.
