I use the word "guy" for every one, regardless of gender. In the way that I use it, it's a gender neutral term. Is this wrong of me to do? I don't want to accidentally offend anyone...

I think it's a pretty gender neutral term when you say it as "hey guys" or something to that effect. I do the same thing. But if anyone were to tell me that they aren't comfortable with it then I'd definitely make sure to not call them that.

I used to work in a front office setting where we would get a bunch of male volunteers. They would always part ways saying “bye guys” (we were all girls in the office). I would respond by saying “bye girls.” It made them do a double take on what they said. It’s not a big deal to me, really. But sometimes it does pop into my head that technically, it’s not correct. For the most part, I’ve stopped saying guys all together. Unless you encounter someone who is super into using the correct term, I don’t see a problem with it.
