For people who don’t have a great relationship with their MIL, do you feel reluctant to have them be a part of your pregnancy?

Personally, I’m not blessed with a good relationship and my husband’s side doesn’t know yet. I figure it’s early enough that it isn’t overly controversial. I figured I would wait until the first U/S but I am dreading telling them. Hubs isn’t even really in contact with them and won’t be seeing them for the holidays. They are all about image, though, and I really don’t want to be in a sticky situation.

I feel like they’ll lay it on thick when they find out and try to act like everything’s always been great but that makes me more uncomfortable than morning sickness..
