I went to the ER today due to being 5 weeks along and having some spotting and pain on my left side. They checked my hgc levels and they were about 15,000, consistent with me being about 5 weeks. That’s the first blood work I have had so we don’t have anything to compare to yet. They did an ultrasound and I was able to see the gestational sack and the yolk but it was too early to see anything else! They discovered that I have uterine fibroids and cysts on my ovaries that are causing me pain and possibly the bleeding as well, but other than that everything looks good! Between the blood levels and the ultrasound they put me at five weeks and one day, and I had thought that I was five weeks and two days so that’s pretty close :-) I’m going to schedule a follow up with my OB/GYN for 2 to 3 days from now to draw some more blood for comparison.
