How do you guys deal with this??

I am white and my husband is black, my mother in law is rude in a way that makes her sound polite.. it’s obvious she’s not happy about our marriage and my husband has numerous times stood up for me but all I want is acceptance from my mother in law. She acts as if she deserves more than me, his wife. It bugs me I know that’s his mom but I am his wife he is a grown man he doesn’t and hasn’t lived at home for years now

I’m sorry to say but it might take years for your mother in law to accept you. Ask her the reason why she doesn’t appreciate you being married to her black son. It’ll give you more of an insight of how she feels. I’m a product of an interracial marriage, and my mother’s family shunned her for 5 years for marrying outside of her race.

I was in the SAME situation. We've been married 8 years and I can tell she still doesn't care for me much. Just recently she started telling my husband he should leave me. That's when he finally had enough and cut her out of his life, for now. I didn't ask him to do so, he made that choice. 
The best advice I can give is to stop trying. If she hasn't changed her mind yet, she most likely won't. Just be polite when you're around her for your husbands sake. But no need to try to build a relationship. 
I know that sounds harsh to some, but this is how my experience has been. It can be different for others though.

First off, I love that he takes up for you ALOT of black men are very sensitive when it comes to there mom. (Them black men looove they mama's).. but u do absolutely nothing, u continue to show her kindness and respect. But don't let her disrespect you in ANY way. Your marriage is the only thing that's important. As long as you and your husband are happy that's all that matters. Just continue to pray for her, prayer works....

I’ve learned you can’t make people around you accept your relationship and what you have, so the best thing to do is learn you can’t make people accept your relationship and what you have. 
That took me a little while to learn but once you have that down nothing really matters anymore but your relationship. You don’t worry too much or at all about what people think or how they accept. You just do you ya know? 
It’s never easy but it takes practice even with family 🙄

I am in the same boat. My mother in law says it like she’s joking but the way I am treated by all of them shows how they feel. She says she “lost her son to a white girl” 
I try and believe there is no such thing as reverse racism but Geez when my family treat him like another family member and his family treat me like his WHITE girlfriend it really fking sucks! His sisters husbands don’t get treated like this at all because they are all islander like him. Even the husband that openly cheats on my partners sister all the time and everyone knows it is treated like a son and I am treated like the white girl that can’t do anything right. It will never change in my situation and I know that. It’s their fault they barely see their grandchildren, not like they even care anyway

I think y’all need to talk it out in a way that won’t cause any fighting and talk to your husband about how it makes you feel, show her you’re good enough
