Is a blood pressure of 148/89 too high for being 38 weeks pregnant?

It’s in the high side yes. We like to keep our moms below 140

Yes it is. Even not during pregnancy it’s high.

When my blood pressure got that high during pregnancy, they always hospitalized me to monitor myself and the baby (happened 4 times).  If you have a blood pressure cuff at home, the best way to bring it down is to dim lights, turn off phones/tv, rest on your side, and drinks lots of water.  Every time they had me do this in the hospital I was out within 2 hours.  Definitely keep a close eye on that and any preeclampsia symptoms you may have.

Mine was 135/89 and my doctor said it was creeping up and we would just monitor it. Delivering in a little over a week.
