Breastfeeding while pregnant?

I just found out that I'm pregnant and I am still breastfeeding my first. When should I stop? Any advise on how to stop?

You don’t have to stop of you don’t want to...you can keep going ....but you’ll have colostrum come in for new baby and I imagine you don’t want to share that!

I am currently nursing a four year old boy and a two year old daughter. I went into labor on my due date. It was fine.

I kept breastfeeding until my son was ready to stop. He was 14 months and I was 28 weeks pregnant. We slowly dropped feedings until he was only nursing before bed and in the morning. When I realized I was initiating both feedings I dropped the morning one with no protest. Then continued offering before bed for two more weeks before dropping that last one too.

Once pregnant my supply dropped, so we were mix feeding from 10 months until we weaned at almost 13 months. I think the mix feeding helped the wean, we just gradually reduced breastfeeds, which was mainly overnight/early morning, until we just stopped all together and it was actually a really smooth and easy transition, which brought a lot of relief. It’s nice to have a little break before next bub arrives. 😊
