Ten minutes of Braxton Hicks contractions and a hr later the pain intensified

Kelsey

My babies were all early. My first came on her own terms 37 wks + 1 day my second just came 38 wks +5 days. I lost my mucus plug with my first and was in full blown active labor that evening. With my second I lost my mucus plug on 11/30 and had my check up appointment on 12/1 at 345pm - my ob told me I was only a half centimeter dilated and discussed when they will consider induction which he stated was 4 days after her due date. I told him this pregnancy was the same as the last that she’ll be early just like her big sister and he said that every pregnancy is different. Every pregnancy might be different but my body hated being pregnant and I hit zero to 100 instantly I never made it to a full 40 wks or even past that ever.

On 12/2 my husband went into work early to get some extra work done since their shop is busy and they need to get jobs out before end of the year. They’ve had machine malfunctions and job errors from previous ppl that he’s had to fix so his boss told him to work as much as he would like to to get things sent out. My husband loves overtime $$ and since i no longer work we rely on it. We have a 22 month old daughter and at around 12:30 I started having Braxton hicks contractions I texted to see if he was working late or going to his brothers because I was having contractions but they weren’t serious and I’d like to get a nap in because I felt tired from being up all night with a toddler who has been off her normal routine since our second thanksgiving event the weekend of thanksgiving. So she was well past her normal time of being down for a nap he responded that he’d be leaving in ten minutes. When he got home around one the i took a shower and jumped in bed to nap after he came in from the garage with a beer I told him he’s on toddler duty and she’s under his watch because I’m getting a break. I couldn’t even sleep when I got out of the shower and laid down at 1:30 contractions came back an hr later they were consistent but not strong I walked out of the bedroom to see him and our daughter still up playing. Told him my contractions are back and I cannot sleep that maybe he should feed her lunch just in case we needed to leave. He stated before going to the garage to grab another beer that I wasn’t on the ground yet that we have time...when he came back inside and saw me I was on the ground. Our dog was panicking like he did when I was in labor with our first child. I told my husband I’m going to hop into the shower again to stop them. After that shower I called my ob office and since it was Saturday at now 220 they forwarded me over to the on call dr. She told us to come in through the hospitals er entrance to get checked. Only one problem we had to wait for my mother in law to get to our house to watch our daughter before we could leave. By this point I’ve been in active labor for an hr and a half my husband finally put our daughter down for her nap my mother in law kept texting me asking us if we wanted her to come or meet us with our daughter at the hospital I told her to just come to the house we’re waiting on her so we could leave. People never seem to listen 🤷🏼‍♀️. When I texted my mother she was running errands and stated she’d be out all afternoon. My mother in law texted when she got off the bypass at a location my husband and I know has heavy traffic and is under construction constantly by this point I couldn’t get my pants up without his help or my shoes on so when she sent me this text “I’m five to seven minutes away” I was getting mad. I told him his mom needed to hurry. The pain I felt was just like before when I drove myself into the er entrance because I couldn’t get my husband out of his sleeping coma to take me when our first was born and since my water didn’t break the pain felt like I was 5cm dilated. We ran when she ran in and my husband blew through every stop sign and cut through side roads and slow ppl driving. We’re 25 mins from the hospital- we left the house at 3:11 and arrived at the hospital at 3:34pm he blew through the longest red light and heavy traffic to get across to enter the hospital entrance. I told him as long as I get my epidural I’ll be fine.... it felt like five minutes passed before we were wheeled up to delivery to be checked. They checked and stated that I was 10cm dilated and that I wouldn’t be receiving any drugs to ease the pain. My second daughter was born at 3:54pm after 10 mins of pushing. The most painful thing I’ve ever done I swear the epidural I had with my previous delivery I didn’t feel anything I felt this time. I absolutely felt like I was dying and that I couldn’t do it and luckily enough it’s our last babe because I cannot imagine going through labor the second time without drugs. I had a natural labor 2x already one with epidural and one without and I’d hands down would of taken the epidural route if I could of. There’s no book in the world that can describe what you’re going to feel or a class you can take or a video you can watch to prepare you for the delivery process. The dr said I had a high pain tolerance because I came in at 10cm and rated it as me being at 5cm.

Lucky enough I didn’t need to drive this time but it’s sure hard to recover this time around chasing after a toddler and nursing a newborn. Two little girls 22 months apart

My first daughter ^^ was born at 3:54am 2/5/16 at 4lbs 5.8oz

My second daughter was born at 3:54pm 12/2/17 at 6lbs 8.4 oz
