Copper IUD??

Question

Currently I’m on the pill for the past 2 years but I feel like the hormones make me act differently. I was wondering what it’s like with the copper IUD??

i hated it! the cramps were so baddd and my periods were normally 5 days long, while i had the copper iud my periods would last anywhere from 7-9 days, and they were reallly heavy. my cycles were 30 days long and it changed to 40-42 days. every time i had sex with my husband i felt pain, no matter the position. it was bad.

I had the copper iud. It was good but I spotted for awhile and it made my period very heavy and long when it use to be 4 days max. It also got pushed up so far the doctor almost couldn’t remove it. I think that would of happen regardless of what kind though. Maybe get the smaller one if I had to do it again. The connivence is great!

I had paraggard for 5 years - loved it no problems - loved being hormone free .. it took about 6 months to regulate coming off of the pill and to start seeing a normal period pattern .. but I had zero other issues after that.

I have the copper iud and I personally hate it. I was on the lowest dosage of hormones when I was on the pill but got off of it when I was TTC. After I had my daughter it was recommended for me to get the iud. My husband says he can feel it poking him some times and I always worry that it’s going to move and I’ll end up pregnant before I’m ready. I can’t wait to take it out next year when we start trying for our second and I’ll get my tubes tied after I have my second so I won’t have to worry about it
