induced Friday!!💕 tips for a first time mommy?

Due December 30th but being induced friday! any tips for a smooth labor? im being induced 12am friday night so techincally saturday. whats the procedure also how painful is the epidural?

I’m first time Mom and I was induced... due to the induction my baby’s heart rate dropped and baby didn’t want to come down. I didn’t feel my contractions due to the epidural. I ended up with a c section. My best wishes for you ! 💕

I was induced at 38 weeks (for a congenital heart defect I have) I was a nervous wreck and it wasn’t that bad actually! They broke my water at 10:30, lasted until about 1:30 then asked for an epidural. That didn’t hurt at all. Then started pushing around 4:30. Pushing was the hardest part for me, I was just so exhausted. But I did it and she’s here and I’d do it all over again! Good luck!

Agreed! For me, compared to the intensity of my contractions after my water broke, the epidural was welcomed with joy. Ha! I am one of those people who doesn't like to look when I'm being poked at, so I would advise not looking at the needles. The numbing shot was nothing, the only difficulty is trying to have your back rounded and stay still through contractions. Best wishes for a smooth delivery!

Epidural isn’t painful at all. They’ll numb you up with little needles (like at the dentist) before the big needle. Just try not to think about it. It’s over before you know it and then ahhhh relief! 
I don’t really know what tips you can give someone who’s getting an epidural, cause you’re kinda just bound to your bed and can’t move. 🤷‍♀️
