Dinied position because I'm pregnant...

So I work in a restaurant that I have been loyal to for about a year. We recently opened a new location and I was lead to believe that I was going to this location to become the General Manager. I was happy because I honestly feel like I'm perfect for the position. most of the employees agree. I know this restaurant like the back of my hand. But when we opened up I was given the kitchen manager position. I didn't say anything because it's been crazy trying to open up. But I've been hearing a lot of talk about bringing in other people for the gm position or seeing how some of the new people might work for it. And tonight after closing I was talking with them and they started saying those kinds of things again. So I light hearted said "I think the GM should be someone who knows the front of house and kitchen by the back of their hand" and we all kind of laughed about it and then they said "Well we were seriously seriously considering you, but then we found out there was a baby on the way" SAY WHAT????........ SO BASICALLY I'M NO LONGER CAPABLE OF DOING A JOB OR BE COMITTED TO A POSITION BECAUSE I'M GOING TO BE A MOTHER???? WOULD THEY HAVE SAID THIS TO A MAN WHO WAS BECOMING A FATHER!!!????? I DON'T THINK SO! I just so betrayed. I mean this is the 21st century. How can people still be like this. One of the owners is a wife and a mother and she has accomplished so much. And her husband has done nothing but compliment my management skills. So how is me having a baby going to change that? I've been working 12 to 15 hours a day. staying till 3 I'm the morning some nights trying to help the opening be successful. I've been professional, humble, and patient. I am so hurt....
