Glucose test 140 level

If your levels were at 140 exactly did you have to take the 3 hour test? So my first pregnancy I did not get sick from the glucose test. This time around I go my SO EXTREMELY SICK! I was affected all day long and had a crazy amount of contractions. I’m CONVINCED it was my body going haywire from the surge of sugar and from being slightly dehydrated etc. anyway, my glucose levels were 140. I know that 140 is the max limit so I’m freaking out they’ll make me do the 3 hour test. I won’t know until late tomorrow if that’s the case so I’m asking now. I truly think if I do the 3 hour test I will end up in preterm labor.
