If I am 18, what age do y’all think is appropriate for dating an older guy?

At a certain point, there’s a reason why an older man wants to date someone significantly younger than them (and I’m talking a girl in 18-20 range, not a woman who’s 30 dating a man that’s 40). The younger you are, the more impressionable you are. They can’t date a woman their own age, and/or they don’t want to, because younger women tend to be easier to manipulate. And believe me, this is coming from experience. If I could have recognized some of that behavior when I was younger, I could have save myself a lot of heartbreak. Key phrases to watch out for:
- “you’re so mature for your age”
-“you’re not like other girls”
-any discouragement from doing what you want to do, like going to college or getting a job
- guilting you about not wanting to do something they want you to do (“I thought you could handle this, I thought you were mature enough” etc).

I'm 18 and my boyfriend is 24. We've been dating for almost a year and a half. I see no problem in dating older guys at the age of even 17-18.

I say 18 is very appropriate for dating an older guy but my previous boyfriend and I were together for two years, he was 6 years older than me which I didn't initially have a problem with but eventually I started to think about how much older he was. Then I thought about how he's at the point in his life where he should be getting married or at least settling down with someone and I was 19 at the time and I felt I wasn't ready for that. Also, he was over 21 and was able to go out with his friends and I always had to stay home unless they were going to a restaurant and that kind of sucks as well.
