What's the difference between Gerber 1st foods and 2 nd foods?

I bought my 6 month old the 2nd foods ones because I didnt know their was the 1st. Does this even matter? First time eating solids. Thanks Update: I bought him veggie ones, would these still have chunks in them.

Second stage has chunks and mixes different flavors. Usually if baby has tried all of the first stages with no allergies or issues, it’s safe to continue up to the second stage.

Babies go by eating stages they start by eating vegetables and fruits ( gerber 1st stage) then go into meats like chicken, turkey and beef ( gerber 2nd stage) and its true the 2nd stage has small chunks in it

It doesn’t really matter. 
I never gave my son purée food. He went straight to table food at 6 months and has been eating like a champ ever since. Plus saved me money since he ate whatever i was eating. Everything except honey.
