I think I messed it up

So I'm on the pill and I stopped taking it half way through a packet because I took 2 packets continuously so I didn't have a period, so I did lodes of weird things with when I'd stop and start taking it and I got off that period about 4 days ago. Me and my boyfriend had an accident earlier today, so is the pill still effective even though I messed up the cycle a bit?
