Is ten years old too young??

I want to get my step daughter a promise ring.  But idk if I should do it now or wait until she's 13. I feel like right now is too soon to explain saving herself until marriage.  But I also am scared that if I take too long others will influence her.

i think its fine. i wish someone had spoken to me more about it when i was young.i started dating older men behind my parents back since i was 12 (i looked 16) i wish someone had sat down with me and just had a serious conversation with me about how serious it all is and how it affects you and why i should wait not just tell me im too young for everything but actually explain it all. i went through akot at a young age with guys and because i dont want my sisters (17 and 11 years old) to go through things i have these talks with them. my mom thinks the youngest is too young but in this world and this sexualised society they need to know and understand and feel like if they have questioms or curiosities they habe someone they can talk to.

10 is a good age to talk but may be too young for a ring.  As a step mother I would hope you have the buy in if both Mom and dad.

I feel like it’s never to late to talk about sex, especially in these days. I also feel like it’s good to talk about it at a young age because they’ll know that if someone tries to do something to them they’ll know that it’s wrong (even though we’re talking about not having sex before marriage) at younger ages you can tell them about the whole no touching in the private parts but when they start to get into their pre teens is when I feel like you have to take it more seriously. I feel like 10+ is not a bad age to start.
