TTC after a Miscarriage: This is Terrifying
Hello everyone!
My husband and I decided to try and start getting pregnant again. I found out in May of 2017 I was pregnant for the first time after 6 months of TTC. I lost my little one around 8 weeks on Father's Day. We were devistated. My husband also learned his grandfather passed away on the same day. As my husband would say, "worst Father's day ever". I had a bout of depression after my miscarriage, but by God's grace was able to have victory over my depression in August. Since then I've tried to make some positive changes in my life to help have a healthy pregnancy. I've lost 35lbs, have been eating better, and I've been taking prenatal vitamins daily. I was also cleared by my doctor to take baby asprin once I'm pregnant ( but I'll probably start before. ) I have Factor V Leiden, and it can be shown to cause clotting during pregnancy, hence the baby asprin.
I know God is in control regardless of what happens. He used my miscarriage in amazing ways and His blessings have abounded since. It sounds insane, but I wouldn't change this past year. While I would give anything to hold my Riley in my arms, I know I will one day in heaven. I know God is holding onto Riley until the day I am home. My baby never knew fear, hurt, loneliness, sickness, heartbreak... my baby only knew love. From the moment I found out Riley existed, there wasn't a day that my husband and I didn't speak our love to our little poppy seed.
Even with knowing God's got this, there are still a lot of nerves going forward. Has anyone else been in this boat? Prayers and advice for this journey are so welcome. ❤️
Oh, I should probably say I'm currently 23, will be 24 in February. My husband is 24, 25 in June. High school sweethearts, been together since November 2010 and married since July of 2015. Riley was the name we chose for our baby we lost. It was too early to know the gender, so we picked a gender neutral name. January will be my first ovulation cycle since starting to TTC. Fingers crossed and send a prayer our way. ❤️🙏
And on a side note, has anyone been in this situation where their cycle completely changed dates after a miscarriage? Before everything, my period would fall around the 20th of each month and last about a week. I had one normal cycle the month after my miscarriage and then it jumped to the 2nd or 3rd of each month and lasts 5-6 days. Is that normal? 😕🤔
