How to Announce at a Large Family Gathering?

My husband and I are announcing our pregnancy over the holidays to all of our extended relatives at various family dinners. My question is, if you have a big family, how did you tell them? The idea of just walking in and trying to get EVERYONES attention to tell them I’m pregnant is a little daunting, particularly at several different occasions. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

When we announced to my extended family we told everyone we wanted to take a group photo. We all stood together for the photo (about 26 of us) and my sister who was actually recording said “ok on the count of three everyone say Caitlin’s pregnant!” It was the best ever!

My family always does a prayer before the meal so I would add at the end ‘and thank you for our little bundle of joy coming soon’ or if you don’t prayer maybe just get everyone’s attention and say how nice it is to see everyone and how happy you are for the new bundle

Oh! Or have a sweater on that had the announcement underneath and take the sweater off, and wait for someone to catch on- that one could be fun!

Go around the room and have pple say what they want to look forward to for next year and what they accomplished this year.. then when it is your turn, do the same thing but announce your news as well :) All eyes will be on you, but continue with the line! Or go last! That way everyone doesn’t dwell on it in the beginning:) I hope this helps! You will have to get used to it either way. Many others will want to invade your bubble hahaha.

We just had my moms side of the family Christmas. We always play games before presents so i told everyone i wanted to play hangman since i haven’t in forever. I did two rounds (because everyone else then wanted to play 😂) but i put  baby due in August and told them they were guessing a Christmas movie name. So you could always do it that way and make it into some sort of game

Since they're dinners maybe a desert that says you're having a baby some way on it? If you're opening gifts (and your family is like mine and makes sure everyone is watching when we do) you can always make onesies that announce the baby?
