Just leave it alone! My daughters didn't fall off for like 3 weeks and then when it did it was still all gooey! The doctor put silver on it to dry it up! Let it do its natural work! If it causes her pain or starts oozing puss, call doctor!

totally normal! my daughter's cord looked like this and I thought it would fall off in a day or two. took a picture of it, changed her diaper, and it fell off 😨 she had a little ooze left over but I left it alone and it cleared up quickly!

I spoke to my midwife about this too because my son has it. And she told me it’s completely normal as long as it’s not bleeding more than the size of a quarter. She explained that it’s a necrosis process and it’s literally waiting for it to rot and heal and sometimes it takes time. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes it's fine. keep it dry. and let it fall on its own. my daughter's fell off a few days after birth but there still was this little tiny, more tiny than your picture, part that still was attached.

My daughters stump fell off when she was 4 days old. It took a few weeks to fully ‘close’ and there were a few times when it spontaneously bled a little, but she was ok.
-if it bleeds more than a few drops, go to the doctor, just to be on the safe side. 
- don’t wash it, don’t touch it. Just leave it completely alone.
-if anything starts oozing, or there’s a funky smell, go to the doctor and get it checked out.
Just mention it at your next check up - the doctor can take a look and ease your mind :)

My drs told me to clean it with alcohol at diaper cleanings. At one appointment the pediatrician soaked my daughters with alcohol and it came right off.
