I think just about anyone can pull off dreads. Make sure when you start them you find someone who knows what their doing working with Caucasian type hair. Do not let them do the rip and twist method. It’s horrible for your hair. And you basically have to palm roll every other day to every couple days for a couple months till they lock then you can go down to doing them once a week and even less than that. Do lots of research and watch plenty of YouTube vids so you are semi familiar with what your getting into. At first they are ALOT of work. I LOVED my dreads when I had then and will be re doing them in a couple months. I took them out cause they were too small for what I wanted and a couple of them in the back got matted together. (Had to cut 3 out 😭) so I’m waiting on that hair to grow back before I do then again. But I’ve learned from my mistakes. And I do my husbands dreads so I’m more prepared to work on my own head now than I was at the time.
Would I look good with dreads?
Any tips or tricks on starting and maintaining dreads?? 🌞
