Why don't i ever get a "break" from my period if im an athlete??

ok im a gymnast and also do weights,running,and track. im curious as to why ive only skipped 1 period and my sister (who isn't as athletic) has skipped months of hers. im glad ive haven't skipped too many months im just wondering why! thank y'all !

Skipping a period isn’t usually normal but it does happen due to a variety of factors. Everyone’s body is different so why one persons does one thing and another’s does not can be a mystery.

be thankful. missed periods are linked to osteoporosis! they occur most often in athletes due to low body fat. seems you just handle being athletic well and haven't had to harm your body to do what you do.

Some women are very irregular. It’s a problem you don’t want trust me. It may sound nice, but having to get on birth control just so you’ll know when you get your period stinks. I’ve started so many times at school that I’ve had to call home because I didn’t have a pad. A normal person would carry pads around, I didn’t because I was tired of having them and never needing them. But boy, once that period came I was wishing I had them. Not every athlete has a period and not every athlete misses a period it just depends on the person. Every female is different. My sister has nice short and sweet periods where they come on time even by the hour, and only last 4 days. Where as mine are painful, heavy, and last over 7 days most of the time and they never come on time.
