a death sentence is different to being killed before being arrested.
if, in the interest of protecting others, someone is shot and killed, that is one thing. that is necessary.
but just killing someone ? nope. not OK

Unpopular opinion here but I wish serial child/animal abusers were eligible for the Death Penalty. 
We have too many terrible people in this world who make it their life's purpose to end the lives/destroy the lives of innocent creatures and beings, then (presuming they actually get caught) the taxpayers have to provide them with jail housing, food, a dangerous environment for those who guard their cells and common areas. 
I see absolutely no reason why someone who takes a life or multiple lives shouldn't have to give theirs. 
I would like to add that life sentences often only last 45 years and then the prisoner could be released back into the general population, sometimes with no supervision if they have "good behavior". (My mother is a magistrate, so I hear about this all the time) 
ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE, I would like say that if the prisoners were not released prematurely, I would be more willing to turn down the death penalty. I just don't want my children, my family, or any stranger to be attacked by someone who was in state's custody and was released 45 years later, filled up with pent up anger. 
My opinion. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and that is mine.

Wait now I'm confused. Is death sentence when you have to be killed for your crime or is death sentence when you stay in prison for your whole life? English is not my first language so, I don't know why I don't understand it anymore. It used to be clear in.my head but now I doubt

Oh, shoot. I put yes but I meant to say no. No one should decide when someone should die, no one should have that power. No matter what he/she did. I am TOTALLY opposed to death sentence
