What am I supposed to make of this?

Starting last Wednesday, so five days ago, I started having contractions. They were irregular but more than 4 per hour so I went in to get checked and got sent home because the contractions weren't progressing anything at that point. Thursday, Mom and I went to town and walked for a while, contractions were becoming more and more consistent and stronger, at that point anywhere between 5 and 7 minutes apart, lasting for at the least a minute and a half, most of them were longer. Then Friday through today they've been literally every 2-3 minutes, extremely painful, have dilated me to almost a 2 and 50% effaced. My body is exhausted. Stomach is absolutely worn out and killing me but contractions aren't slowing down. They will come one right after the other, all day and all night, I can't sleep because I'm in so much pain all the time, hospital won't give me any medication to help me besides a medicine MY doctor took me off of because he's okay with me going into labor now (almost 36 weeks), and I don't know how much longer this will go on. Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take for you to actually GO into labor, because it feels like I am, but the won't help me at all at the hospital.
