I feel like such a bitch for saying this, but yes kind of... one of my ex’s I was with for 4 years was such a cheap ass. He always did the bare minimum just to say “at least I did something this time”. So people taking the cheap way out when making a statement bothers me so bad... it makes me feel like they’re just scooting by because it was used as a manipulation tactic against me for so long. One anniversary he took me out for a “planned dinner”... to McDonald’s.... and said “remember last year when I was out with friends drinking?”... like zero effort from him, especially when I was putting in so much and taking him out to Outback whenever he wanted 🙄. 
Now my current boyfriend ... I feel like me and him sync so well, that he would be able to get me the perfect ring for me/us. He has expensive taste like I do— but isn’t above thrifty finds either. I think whatever he got me would be perfect.

I didn’t care at all. I know my husband got what was within his budget and I was fine with it. In fact, it wasn’t an actual engagement ring. It was technically a promise ring but it’s my engagement ring. I said yes because I love him and wanted to spend the rest of my life with him, not because of the ring he got.

Not terrribbllyyyy expensive. Its more about I wanna like the way it looks. If it doesnt cost much then great. If it’s expensive then oh well 😆
I don’t think it’s bad to want a nice ring(whether it’s expensive or not). If you have money to afford it then why not get what you want.
