Is this normal?

I get my IUD immediately i gave birth last week, so today as I wanted to pee i can see and feel the string coming out. Is this normal ?

No it isn’t and honestly, I’m shocked that they put it in one week postpartum! 6 weeks is supposed to be the minimum for iud insertion after birth.

I can't believe they put it in so soon! You just gave birth and the last thing you need is someone in your coochy, you need time to heal. Your IUD could be out of place which means it's not protecting you at all. You should go to a different OBGYN and get it taken out until you are atleast 6 weeks PP

No it isn’t and that’s why they typically don’t do that so soon after birth... your cervix is still open and the IUD is easily expelled
