Long story short, my husband got injured on the job - smashed his hand in his delivery truck back in September. He has made progress in physical therapy, but it seems like he has hit a plateau and his doctor will not release him back to work. His doctor told him to be patient and go through the process of healing, but in the mean time I am the only one brining in a consistent pay check and workers compensation takes forever to approve payments.

Several people have been telling me he is “faking” his pain and needs to “suck it up” and get back to work. The stress is starting to take an epic toll on our marriage. I told him he needs to get ANY job in order to help out and he says he keeps applying, but never heard anything back, which I think is a bit odd as well.

To add a little extra piece of information to the story, he has lost 2 other jobs over the past 2 years.

None of this makes sense to me - when we first met he was working 2 jobs!

Ugh - I have been supportive, but our savings is dwindling and I am constantly stressed. I think it’s time to stop being nice and tell him to get his shit together.

What do you all think? Is he faking the injury? Does he not want to work?
