Breast feeding moms: do you get “milk drunk?”

Hi everyone, 
I am a first time breast feeding mom. My milk hasn’t come down yet (had my baby the 23rd) and when I nurse my baby, I literally get this feeling of being extremely drowsy. It almost feels like having taken a Benadryl or something. It’s like a head rush and I literally could nod out right there. It happens anywhere no matter where or when I nurse. Any one know what causes this?

Try drinking a lot more water and eating more food/snacks beforehand.

I've heard you should drink water and eat a snack while/before/after breastfeeding so maybe that would help

I’m pretty sure it’s from oxytocin. It relaxes you and also helps with let down.
