Sling or stroller?

Question

So I’m due in August, I don’t have the most amount of money to buy a stroller any time soon. I’ve been thinking for the first couple of months whilst baby is tiny to sling and babywear bubba bear everywhere? 
Can someone give some advise on what they think?

I would check freecycle or Craigslist for cheap/free strollers. You may not like a sling, you may love it. They're also good for different uses so it'd be nice to have both.

Why don’t you get a cheaper stroller than £1000? And you could have both? My first pram was £200 and I ended buying a buggy for £60 and my daughter preferred it

We have been thinking it was a waste of money to buy a stroller/pram. Baby wearing always. Baby is 8 months old. Thinking we will only really start using it when she gets heavier!

My son hated wrap carriers, so it depends on your baby. Our son likes structured carriers, but only when he can face out. Sometimes it’s so nice to be able to put your baby down, though, so a stroller is a must-have for me. My parents bought a like-new used Babyjogger City Mini stroller for less than $100, which is cheaper than most structured carriers, so there are definitely ways to save money.

Its good to have both. Get a stroller with a click in car seat. The car seat is a must, so I might as well optimize. You have time to look for deals or clearances out items. (Don’t buy car seats used) and always shop with a coupon! Baby wearing is great, but baby may not always like it. And setting them up in the wrap is difficult for short trips, shopping etc.

I had a Boba wrap and it was AH MAZING! I watched a few you tube videos on how to wrap and had my husband as a spotter but literally took half and hour to learn and I used it all the time! I don't even think I actually ended up using her stroller until she was 6 mos old and I'd still be using it if she wasn't 2 and wouldn't climb out 😂😂😂 but I got mine at a consignment store for like a quarter of retail 🖤

I went to a place where the resell gently used baby items and bought the baby trend universal stroller for 30 bucks. it works with any car seat. your baby might not like the sling and strollers come in handy. but no need for expensive ones.

I think it also depends on comfort for you. We didn’t prioritize a stroller, because our baby is going to be born in the depths of winter. In August, a sling may be nice, but the option of a stroller when it is so hot and humid would be preferable for me. I could baby wear, but if I’m over hot, the baby will also be over hot.

My daughter is a month old and I've only used the sling so far. At this stage I find it easier than loading the pram in and out of the car, and she prefers to be close to me. But it does mean I have to carry the nappy bag rather than packing it on the pram

I really think this just depends on the baby. I never used the stroller just baby wear for the first six months. Now that my daughter is almost ten months and sitting up and is heavier we will use the stroller or shopping cart etc. We don’t use the stroller that often but I honestly think for me I needed both.
