Orphan babies used for economics class known as “Practice babies”

I saw something super interesting on Facebook today and wanted to see what you all thought..

Back when economics class taught you more about living than it does today schools had contracts with orphanages to “lease” a baby. As I was reading some of these babies would be leased for 2 years sometimes more depending on how long it took a group of women to graduate.

I find this highly interesting and slightly odd at the same time.
