Glucose and protein urine test strips?

My Ob doesn’t check urine until after 22 weeks for some reason. I’m just about 23 weeks and today was the first appointment when it was checked. The nurse had me follow her to the bathroom and explained to me how to use these glucose and protein urine test strips. You pee in a Dixie cup and then there’s this jar with tests strips that you dip in your urine, wait one minute, and then compare the strip to the color chart on the jar to see which number your strip is closest to and then you tell the nurse. She didn’t ask to see the strip she just told me to tell her which number on the jar my color was closest to. I’ll attach a pic of what it looked like.

I’ve asked my friends that are moms if they had to this and they all said no. One of my friends told me that her doctors office mentioned that some places do it this way, but they don’t because they feel it isn’t as accurate because the patients might being doing the test wrong.

So basically I’m just wondering if anyone else’s doctor has them test this way?
