How Asian cultural society defines a woman’s body.
Honestly growing up in an Asian household, I was told that because I was “too fat” that I’m not attractive. My family and extended family would usually give me what they believe are compliments: “you’ll better in that dress if you were slimmer., no one is going to marry a girl who has a muffin top., maybe if you ate less you’ll get to have your dream body.” My weight was always a problem. But now in 2017, all I’m trying to do is eat right (eat in moderation and also making healthy choices on my food) and I have been going to the gym at least 3x times a week. But my family is still not satisfied with how I look. Apparently having a curvy body does not make me a “proper women to be a wife to anyone.”
I don’t know what to feel honestly. 😔
