irregular periods?

does any one else have irregular periods?  I have ever since I was 14 when I started my period.  I miss some months and then it comes out the blue.  I'm 16 now and I didn't have one last month and so far this month, I'm a virgin so I'm not worried about pregnancy but does any one else get this I don't get why.

There are several things that can cause you to have irregular periods. For example, I have endometriosis and my cycles are quite irregular. Perhaps mention it to your doctor at your next visit. Do you get bad cramps when you get your period?

I was told by my doctor, that the average wait time for period to become regular is 3-4 years. The only time she said they'd look into it is if you had other symptoms like extreme pain or heavy blood flow.  *This is all what the doctor said, I'm not too sure about the accuracy I'm just repeating*
