Any Hairdressers that can help?

So I am naturally blonde & when I was around 12 I dyed my hair black and prefered it that colour. Ive been dying it black now for the last 8 years apart from one time I was dark brown for a few months, but then back black again.

I am well and truly bored of it. I am a very pale person and it washes me out even more. I have been to lots of hairdressers and none of them will lighten my hair because the ends apparently are stained black now and will not go any lighter than black.

I want a dark red type of hair, so I have took it upon myself to do the very lengthy process of growing it out. I grew my roots out (which come through blonde) for 7 months then dyed it red.

My plan is to grow my hair out for a few months, do the roots in the red I want then repeat the process every few months, while also trimming off the black ends, so eventually it will all red. Photo below of how far ive got.

I am so self conscious of this, I have never had nice hair and I feel like everyone just stares at my hair thinking what on earth has she done, but its the only way to change my hair colour apparently 😭
