Petroleum jelly vs A&D ointment ??

I have a 2 yr old girl , so I completely spaced about circumcision for Baby Boy .. due in 10 days and I need help with what I should buy for recovery from circumcision ?? Best brands and which would be better between the jelly or A&D;??

Aquaphor if you require a barrier, but you can also ask that they do the plastibell circumcision which does not require you to use a glob of anything in the diaper

vaseline! I had no clue my son was allergic to a&d; ointment until he had a diaper rash & I put it on him. made things a thousand times worse 😭

you don't want to use anything medicated, just plain petroleum jelly/vaseline to prevent the Glans from sticking to the diaper and causing pain. we put a glob of vaseline on then stuck a small square of gauze on it then put on the diaper.

my son was in the NICU when he was born and they used petroleum jelly. they also used a little gauze as well- a piece about the size of your pinky finger, covered in the petroleum jelly and they would loosely wrap it around his penis so it wouldn't stick to the diaper. did that for the first two days then switched to just a little glob of jelly when diapering for about a week
