can you get induced with no medical reason?

Will your doctor induce you if there's not a medical reason too? I am currently 35 weeks will be 36 on Tuesday and was just wondering if you could request to be induced even if there was no reason for it other than having a lot of discomfort ad shortness of breath problems.

Most doctors won’t even consider it until you reach full term without a medical reasoning.

There are a few factor that determine whether the doctor will induce you. 
-if it's your first child
-how your doctor feels about induction
-size and weight of your baby
If it's not medically necessary, they won't induce you till at least 39 weeks. If it's your first child, 40 to 41 weeks.

You can request it but at my OB they usually won’t do it unless it’s medically necessary or what they call post dates. So 40+1 and up.

My aunt and mom always had a set c section with every birth. With no medical reason. But one time my mom just go Induced cause she went over 40 w. And there’s 4 of us!

If you have no issues then more than likely they won’t even entertain the idea. 
My doc told me that they get requests for it but if the mom and baby are fine and don’t have issue or had any then they let them get to 40 weeks before considering if they can book an appointment for induction.
